Good Friday 2021

On this Good Friday when many Christians around the world are remembering Jesus death on the cross I was thinking on part of Isaiah 53:4-6

4 Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

For those of us that know Jesus as Lord already it is a wonderful reminder of the price that was paid for our redemption.

If you are reading this and don’t know about Jesus and what He did for us then a brief explanation is in order – Verse 6 (We all like sheep…) tells us that all humanity is sinful (we’ve all gone astray), but God laid on Jesus all our sins who took the punishment we deserved. As a result all who believe in Jesus and commit their lives to him are freed from their sin.If you want to know more about Jesus and how to become a true believer then do get in touch…
